  • March 18, 2019. Seed Planting Workshop for our annual plant sale.  All members are invited to join the fun in planting flower and vegetable seeds to grow for the annual plant sale. Please plan on attending this ‘hands on’ workshop on how to start a variety of seeds. All you need is to dress casually and bring garden gloves and your enthusiasm. The BGC will provide the seeds, pots and soil, and information and contacts for plant support.We will need volunteers to take the plantings home and nurture them along. A sunny window location is ideal, and grow lights are even better. There will be prizes and refreshments! Please put March 18 on your calendar, and contact Jane at Jane.Ledingham@uottawa.ca if you want to be a ‘take home’ volunteer.   • August 19, 2019. Tour and Lunch at the County Cider Company, Prince Edward County. We meet at 10 a.m. in the St. John’s Hall parking lot in Bath to arrange carpooling. The tour includes a tutored tasting of 4 or 5 ciders at a cost of $6.50 per person. We will also learn what apples are used in the different ciders and why, and about horticultural issues such as managing apple orchards.
